Doja Cat Drops Balut & Explains her Experience with it on Instagram Live

With the unexpected release of a new song, "Balut," American rapper Doja Cat is preparing for the release of her fourth studio album, "Scarlet," the following week.

The song, which is the fifteenth and last item on the album's tracklist, is the fourth single from "Scarlet," which becomes available for streaming worldwide on September 22.

Previous singles from the album by Doja included the hip-hop song "Attention," the pop-rap song "Paint the Town Red," which included vocals by singer Dionne Warwick, and the punk-rap song "Demons," whose music video starred actress Christina Ricci.

At the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, where the music video for "Attention" won Best Art Direction, Doja performed the three songs.

Ric Flair, a great wrestler, is sampled in the song "Balut" saying, "Remember this, girls, none of you can be first, but all of you can be next." Apart from the well-known Filipino treat, Flair's moniker "I Da! Ba-Loot!" is possibly one of the sources of the song's title. Doja sings in the '90s-inspired song on how she stands out among amateurs and possibly even some peers as an artist and denies claims that she does drugs.

In her second-ever tour, also titled "Scarlet," Doja will promote the record across the United States (and one Canadian city), starting on October 31 in San Francisco and concluding on December 13 in Chicago. Ice Spice and Doechii will alternate as support acts.

Her most popular songs are "Say So," "Kiss Me More" with SZA, "Need to Know," "Juicy" with Tyga, "You Right" with The Weeknd, "Streets," "Like That" with Gucci Mane, "Boss Bitch," and "Woman."
