According to the event's official channels, the annual two-day music festival hosted on Philadelphia's Benjamin Franklin Parkway during Labor Day weekend will not take place this year. Jay-Z established the event, which has been a Philly institution since 2012.

Organizers issued a statement on Tuesday, claiming "severe circumstances outside of production control." "This decision was difficult and was not made lightly or without great thought," the statement said.

All tickets will be returned, and the event will return in 2024, according to the group's statement.

There was no explanation offered Tuesday as to what "severe circumstances" caused the unexpected cancellation.

SZA and Lizzo were scheduled to co-headline the event.

Lizzo is presently the subject of a lawsuit brought by her former tour dancers, who accuse her of sexual harassment and permitting a toxic work environment. She branded the charges "false" and "too outrageous to ignore" in an Instagram post last week.

Her lone remaining tour date was Made in America.

"Since 2012, Made in America has grown into a Philly tradition on Labor Day Weekend, celebrating music and promoting worthwhile social causes," Kenney explained.
