Nathaly Ramirez’s Death: Suspect Arrested in Bronx Balcony Case

Angel Carrasco faces murder and other charges after the death of 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez. Her infant daughter survived the fall and remained hospitalized as of Thursday.

Authorities have arrested Angel Carrasco in connection with the death of Nathaly Ramirez, a 23-year-old Bronx mother who fell from a 15th-floor balcony while holding her infant daughter. The child survived and remained hospitalized Thursday, October 8.

Police allege that Carrasco, 31, pushed Ramirez from the balcony early Tuesday, October 6. ABC7 identified him as Ramirez’s former boyfriend and the infant’s father. The allegation remains part of a criminal case; it has not been established by a conviction.

The incident happened at the Allerville Arms building on Olinville Avenue in the Bronx’s Allerton neighborhood. News12 reported that police responded at approximately 3:38 a.m. Ramirez died following the fall. Her daughter survived, and reports published Thursday continued to describe the child as receiving hospital care.

Arrest and charges

The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed Carrasco’s apprehension in an October 8 announcement. The agency’s release describes him as wanted in connection with the alleged balcony push.

FOX5 New York, which cites the NYPD’s Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information, reported charges of murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, attempted manslaughter and assault. Charges are accusations, and Carrasco is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Remembering Ramirez

Residents gathered for a vigil Wednesday, with flowers and candles placed in Ramirez’s memory, according to News12. The gathering brought a neighborhood response to a case involving the loss of a young mother and concern for her surviving daughter.

In the sources reviewed for this report, an arraignment outcome, plea or bail ruling had not been confirmed as of Thursday evening.
