SUPERSEDED — Tinashe’s ‘Popstar’ Debuts at No. 6, Earning Her First Billboard 200 Top 10

The new album brings “Too Easy,” “Melatonin” and “Crash Out” into a career milestone for the singer.

Tinashe’s Popstar era has reached a new high. The album debuts at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 dated October 10, 2026, securing her first top 10 album, according to Billboard’s report.

Popstar earned 35,500 equivalent album units in the United States during the tracking week ending October 1, marking Tinashe’s biggest week by that measure. Album sales contributed 22,000 units, also a career best, and helped the project enter Top Album Sales at No. 4.

Streaming added another 13,500 equivalent album units, representing 13.73 million official on-demand streams. The result puts Popstar above her previous Billboard 200 peak of No. 17, achieved by Aquarius in 2014.

Released September 25, Popstar spans 16 tracks and approximately 39 minutes. Its tracklist includes “Too Easy,” “Melatonin,” “Crash Out,” “Pillow Fight” and “I’d Rather Be Alone,” alongside “Flashbacks” and “Cloud 9.” Those songs are at the center of the new chapter, with official videos also accompanying several releases.

Speaking with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Tinashe described her own creative instincts as the connection between her different influences. Her concepts, melodies and background vocals help bring those ideas together. She also explained that her understanding of a pop star embraces multiple genres, allowing those interests to coexist within one project.

That perspective gives the album’s title a personal meaning beyond its chart position. Popstar presents the identity Tinashe described in that conversation, while its opening-week performance establishes a new commercial benchmark. The release gives listeners 16 tracks through which to explore that vision for themselves.

Cyclolore covered Tinashe’s BB/ANG3L era in 2023, including “Needs” and “Uh Huh.” Now, with Popstar’s new songs and her first Billboard 200 top 10, that continuing story reaches another milestone.
